Recycled toilet paper

Admittedly, they’re not as soft a touch as the virgin-forest kind, but switching over to recycled toilet paper does your heart and our forests a world of good.  According to Greenpeace, the average Canadian uses about 22 kilos of disposable tissue products each year, including about 100 rolls of toilet paper (5 kilometers long when rolled out!).

Imagine that…if each one of us – each household in Canada – can opt to help reduce the number of trees that are chopped down for our backsides’ and noses’ greater comfort by simply starting with replacing ONE roll of virgin forest toilet paper with ONE roll of the recycled kind, we could SAVE 47,962 TREES (Greenpeace). 

If it helps to let your guests know that the not-velvety-soft TP in your bathroom is actually not you being cheap, but you saving the Canadian ancient forest, post this sign (printed on recycled paper too) on your bathroom door:
